Ingredients
  • 1.25pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 oniondiced
  • 2 garlic clovesminced
  • 1 large head of cabbagechopped
  • 1 red bell pepperchopped
  • 24ounces marinara sauce
  • 1/3cup your choice of toppings as pepperoni peppers, cherry tomatoes, olives, ground/mince beef, mushrooms, herbs
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1tsp thyme
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1cup shedded white cheddar
  • 1/4cup tomato paste
Instructions
  1. In a large skillet brown ground beef, sea salt and pepper onion over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds more. Stir in marinara sauce, beef broth, paprika, and thyme to skillet and stir.
  3. Gently mix in chopped cabbage. Bring mixture to a boil. Cover skillet, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir, recover, then simmer for 10 minutes longer, or until cabbage is tender.
  4. Remove lid and add tomato paste. Stir and simmer, uncovered, for 5-10 minutes, or until sauce reduces slightly.
  5. If you prefer a thicker sauce, add additional tomato paste and stir. Serve.
