I must confess that, in my family, salmon is one of our favorite fish. We eat salmon once or twice a week. Salmon is an accessible and healthy fish.


It´s rich in omega 3 fatty acids which helps to reduce cholesterol, chances of heart attack, the risk of cancer, improved cognition, bone and joint protection, healthy skin, better vision, and efficient metabolism. Salmon is also known to be a brain food for children and a calming food for those with ADHD.

If you don´t know there is two types of salmon: wild salmon and farm-raised salmon. I prefer to buy wild caught salmon if it´s available. If you can´t find fresh wild salmon in your fishmonger, see if in your supermarket there is frozen wild salmon. 

This salmon with lemon and lime butter sauce recipe is one of my favorites salmon dishes, whenever I want a quick, simple and easy meal for dinner. And it´s also a great dinner for those days when you are coming home from work.

The lemon and lime juice gives the salmon an extra flavor and it is made with only 4 ingredients (lime, lemon, butter, and garlic). The most amazing is that this sauce is ready in 5 minutes. The flavors are outstanding because I loaded the salmon with lemon and lime juices. Once you try you will want to add it to other fishes recipes.

I serve this salmon with sautéed greens. But rice, quinoa or couscous would be good too. Actually, my two boys, which love salmon, eat this salmon with rice.

Instructions
Salmon
  1. Season both sides of salmon fillets with salt, pepper and lime and lemons juice. Let marinate
  2. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon and let it cook about 4 minutes in one side, and about 2/3 minutes on the other side.
  3. Place salmon to a serving plate and drizzle each serving generously with lemon and lime butter sauce, and garnish with lemon slices if desired. Serve immediately with vegetables of your taste.
Lemon & Lime Butter Sauce
  1. Put all ingredients in a small saucepan and let it boil. Transfer to a serving bowl.
