This is such a wonderful pie! The filling is only made with apples and does not carry sugar. So the taste of apples is enhanced even stronger.
This apple pie is very easy to make. The only step which takes a little effort is ginning and peeling the apples. I use a ready-to-use puff pastry which is much easier.
In this recipe, I use unsalted butter, and if you are vegan you can use coconut butter or if you prefer you can learn how to do it by yourself here.
If you like raisins or walnuts you can even add them to the filling which makes the pie more delicious. My kids are not very fond of dry fruits and nuts, so I preferred not to add them to my pie.
This sugar-free apple pie is a typical pie for the days when I have to make some dessert (Yes! Because everyone is always waiting for me to surprise them) and I have no imagination or time to create something new. And since apples are always in my fruit bowl, this recipe is ideal.
