What do you need to make this easy homemade salad

Lettuce

Red cabbage

Arugula

Tomatoes (Any kind of fresh tomatoes would be great)

For Vinaigrette dressing:

Olive oil: Extra virgin for the win!

Red wine vinegar 

Dijon mustard: Even if you’re iffy about mustard, trust me — it’s not overpowering here and instead really just rounds the flavors out.

Italian Seasoning. Store-bought or homemade

Garlic: I prefer to use fresh garlic, but you can also sub in garlic powder in a pinch.

Sea salt: Definitely give the dressing a taste and add more if you’d like.

Freshly-cracked black pepper: I’m a pepper nut, and like plenty in my dressing and also lots cracked on top.

To make this Italian salad recipe, simply…

Make your dressing: Whisk all of the ingredients together in a small bowl until combined. Or — my preferred method — just add them to a mason jar and shake-shake-shake until the dressing is ready to go.
Mix the salad:  Then combine all of your salad ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle evenly with the dressing and toss until combined.
Serve! And serve it up right away while it’s nice and fresh!

Instructions
  1. First, make the vinaigrette dressing. Combine all of the ingredients in a jar with a lid and shake until ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Add all ingredients together in a large bowl, and toss until evenly combined.  Serve immediately, garnished with Parmesan cheese if desired.
