If you are looking for easy baking, then turnovers are just perfect! You can use frozen puff pastry. You can get the same results as fresh puff pastry. The turnovers will be a snap to make, they will look pretty, and the crust will lot of buttery layers.
This is the reason why I always have a box in my fridge. These are super fast, and you don’t have the traditional fresh puff pastry mess in your kitchen.
In fact, these are not really turnovers because the turnovers are stuffed and I used the egg cream filling as a cover. Actually, this is the only thing you need to worry about.
For the egg cream you will need:
6 eggs
6 tbsp water
6 tbsp sugar
How to make egg cream:
Step 1: In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, dissolve the sugar in the water. Allow cooling.
Step 2: With an electric or hand-beater, beat the yolks until they are thick and light yellow. Continuing to beat them, slowly pour in the sugar syrup.
Step 3: Return the egg and sugar mix to the saucepan, and stirring constantly, heat over low heat until thickened enough.
But this is my creative way to make a fancy dessert for a dinner or lunch with friends or family. These are not a simple turnover. They are puff pastry heaven.
Also, this recipe makes six turnovers but you could double the recipe if you want to make more turnovers. The best part is that these Egg Cream Turnovers are really simple to make.

Step 2: Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 3: Cut each piece of dough into eight triangles.
Step 4: Bake for 20 minutes or until pastry is puffed and golden brown.
Step 5: Top each triangle with the egg cream.
