How to make the best grilled chicken breast
You can use a charcoal grill, gas grill, or the amazing cast iron (grill) pan that I used for these.
- Combine all ingredients in a large ziplock bag.
- Add chicken to the bag and place the closed ziplock bag in a large bowl and put in the fridge.
- Marinade for at least 8 hours or overnight.
- Preheat the grill to medium. Drop the temperature down to medium-low and place chicken on the grill and cook for 5-8 minutes per side.
You must let your grilled chicken breasts rest before cutting into them — a tip which applies to cooking any meat, really. If you cut in right away, you will lose all of the amazing juices and some of the tenderness that we’re going for. But if you give chicken breasts a rest, it will finish cooking and lock in all of those delicious juices, resulting in the most tender and juicy and delicious grilled chicken.
I recommend loosely tenting a sheet of aluminum foil over the pan to keep the heat in while the chicken rests. And then after 5-10 minutes, you can finally serve and enjoy your perfectly-cooked chicken breasts. I serve these chicken breast with a mix of sautéed veggies (spinach, cherry tomatoes, red and yellow peppers).
